The idea of a coworking space in Bryan / College Station had been supported amongst a handful of local groups and community members for quite some time. BCS Startup was one of these groups and with the rapid growth in entrepreneurial activity and a strong community forming around it, it was believed that a coworking space could be the hub for this growing community, and for the working community in general.
The search for the perfect location began in late Fall 2013. Half a dozen locations were scouted as discussions continued within the community about the idea. Then later in 2014, James Benham, long-time entrepreneur and owner of JBKnowledge, moved offices within downtown Bryan. James also believes in the potential of coworking and thus approached Adam Steele and Austin Rolling of BCS Startup about an excellent space located right below the new JBKnowledge location. This beautiful, historic building centrally located in the heart of downtown Bryan was the perfect location for coworking.
This marked the beginning of BinarySpace and doors opened in October of 2014. It was born out of the collaboration of local groups and the immense support of community members. It is that continued collaboration and support that has brought us to where we are today and will keep us going into the future. Thank you to everyone in the community and all our members who have made BinarySpace happen.
